Every child is growing towards a future we cannot yet see.
There will be choices to make, abilities to discover, challenges to overcome and opportunities still waiting beyond the horizon.
Our task is not to decide that future for them.
It is to help them be ready for it.
Their story is still being written.
LOOKING AHEAD
Someone asks one of the children what they would like to be when they grow up.
They think for a moment.
Then comes an answer.
Another child is listening and quickly offers an idea of their own.
There is laughter.
Someone changes their mind.
The conversation carries on.
For now, there is homework to finish, friends to play with and all the ordinary business of being a child.
None of us knows where their lives will lead.
